hyli means saltwater in Kernewek (Cornish).
The water is where we all come from and what we're made of. We want to strip things back.

There are too many clothes, too much choice, not enough ease. A wardrobe full of things that work for one occasion and nothing else. 

We are inspired by the beauty of simplicity. Clothes made from intentional fabrics, by specialised makers, shapes that move with your body. Pieces you reach for without thinking, because they always work.

Our first piece - The Sennen Slip
It began with a seamstress in the 1990s - someone who made things because she knew how they should feel. 

This slip was one of those things. A perfect shape, made well, designed for herself rather than a rail.

Thirty years later, passed down from mother to daughter. It was hard to find anything quite like this dress. So we made it again.

What we believe 
The right piece should work for all of it - the morning swim, the long lunch, the unplanned evening. It should feel good, last long, and be something you can trust.
